Available Placements in Canada

The following list is a sample of the host placements we have available for inbound participants.

1.  IRECAN01 - Grain farm located in southern Manitoba requires an experienced farm hand. The host farms 8000 acres of various cereal crops including wheat, canola, oats, barley, sunflowers, and beans. Participant duties will include, but are not limited to: the operation of tractors, grain trucks, airseeders, combines, and swathers; working in the shop; and occasional yard work.
Placement length: 7 months - April to November.
Accommodation: Separate living quarters. All meals are with the family.

2.  IRECAN02 - Mixed grain and beef cattle farm located in southern Saskatchewan. The host farms 2100 acres of various cereal crops and 100 cow/calf operation. Crops include wheat, barley, oats, canola, flax and hay. Participant duties will include the assistance with calving, processing for herd health, feeding out, moving the cattle, and haying; as well as the operation of the seeder, swather, harvester, tractors, and grain trucks.
Placement length: 7 months - April to November.
Accommodation: Private room in the family home. All meals are with the family.

3.  IRECAN03 - Grain farm located in southern Manitoba requires an agri-home participant. The host farms 2400 acres of sunflowers and wheat. Participant duties will mostly be in the home and with the children, as well as garden and yard work. The participant will have the opportunity to do some field work as well as some work with their horses.
Placement length: 7 months - April to November
Accommodation: Private room in the family home. All meals are with the family.

4.  IRECAN04 - Grain farm located in southern Manitoba. The host farms 8000 acres of various cereal crops including wheat, canola, and oats. Participant duties will include the operation of tractors, grain trucks, combines, and swathers. The participant will also work in the shop and do occasional yard work.
Placement length: 3 months - August to November (for the harvest season).
Accommodation: Separate living quarters. All meals are with the family.
