Outbound Program International Rural Exchange works with partner organizations around the world to provide exchange opportunities for young Canadians who wish to broaden their agricultural experiences. The placements available vary from country to country but generally fall under the following categories: agriculture, agri-home, horticulture, equine, and oenology/wine. Outbound Agriculture & Agri-home The placement type will vary from country to country but the following agricultural placements are generally available: beef, dairy, field crops & machinery, sheep, pigs, and mixed farming. IRE, in conjunction with our country partners, can offer agricultural & agri-home placements in the following countries:
The horticultural placements available can include: fruit, vegetable, market gardening, landscaping, garden centers, cut flowers, and tree nurseries and will vary from country to country. IRE, in conjunction with our country partners, can offer horticultural placements in the following countries:
Equine placements can include: Equestrian (show jumping, dressage, eventing, riding school, hunting, showing, or instructor), Western/Ranch (working ranch, reining, halter, western pleasure, or cutting), Breeding (mares/foals, stallions, or yearling preparation), Racing (track rider, jockey, breaking, or stable hand), and Polo. The placements will vary from partner to partner but are generally available in the following countries:
Outbound Oenology/Wine IRE, together with our country partners, can offer oenology placements in the following countries:
